Remodel Save Yourself From
Future Hassels!
The slightest modification to your home can require authorization from
your city known as a Permit.
Whether something as large as an addition built on to the back of the
home, storage shed midst the backyard, or privacy fencing providing a
boundary around your lot, one must seek the permission of their local city
office. While some location(s) require nothing at all, others may request
a generalized plan detailed with exact measurements in which a fee is
accessible.
Before granting a permit for home improvements, an inspection may be of
interest to the city, however it may delay the process as surveying can
take a period of time to be completed. This being why some individuals
take it upon themselves to complete work without consent leaving to only
cause future expenses for you and or your prospective buyer(s).
It is the right of the inspector to survey a property at any given time.
Upon noticing any changes potentially requiring a building permit, one
shall face consequences of such degree. It is not uncommon to be asked to
dismantle any work completed resulting in re-construction per building
code.
Play it Smart! Save yourself from any future hassles and added
expenditures. Contact your local city office and inquire about Building
Permits prior to any and all exterior home improvements.
